PETALING JAYA: Actress Nur Fazura Sharifuddin or Fazura is all
set to host the upcoming eighth Anugerah Skrin awards aimed at
honouring the industry’s best actors, actresses, directors and
filmmakers. “I’m nervous and excited. But most
importantly, I feel honoured to be selected to host this prestigious
annual event,” the 23-year-old actress said after the announcement of
the hosts for the awards show here on Tuesday.

“I’m still green compared with other established hosts.”
Organised by TV3, the awards night will take place in the Merdeka Hall
at Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur on Dec 22.
Fazura will be paired with Nazrudin Rahman, or Naz, who is currently in Australia filming the travelogue My Australian Adventure’s second season.
“This is my biggest (hosting) event, so I’m worried about fumbling as it is a live telecast,” she said.
She is currently hosting two shows – MTV Juice and Pop Inc (on Astro’s MTV channel).
“But I hope with a lot of rehearsals with Naz, who will be back on Dec
17, I will be able to give my best that night,” said Fazura, who just
completed filming the movie Kayangan and is in the midst of working on the drama series Diari Datin and Gol & Gincu 2.
The fact that she acted in three movies and one drama in the running for this year’s awards adds to her excitement.
“Apart from hosting, I really do not know whether I’ll be nominated for my roles in the movies Qaisy & Laila, Senario XX and Gol & Gincu; and drama series Gol & Gincu, but if I am I really hope I will win,” she said.
Anugerah Skrin will see local drama and film production houses competing in 21 categories.
This year’s awards will be aired, for the first time, by all
participating television stations under the Media Prima group, Astro,
as well as RTM.
